Unable to launch ASDM?

'Unable to launch ASDM from 192.168.x.x:
java.security.cert.CertificateException: Certificates does not conform to algorithm constraints'

When you want to run ASDM and log on your CISCO firewall, you see the above error message?

Solution:

In your browser, go to -

https://192.168.x.x

you will be brought to the 'Cisco ASDM 5.2' page. You have 3 options, actually 2; the other - 'Run startup wizard applet' will walk you through the initial configuration, which is not what we want.

Choose Option 2 - 'Run ASDM Applet'.

If there are any problems with certificates, then do two things -

1. In your browser, add your firewall IP to Trusted sites;
2. Go to Control Panel | Java | Security tab, put your firewall IP to the 'Exception Site List'.
